Tattoo Care

-Leave the bandage on for a minimum of two hours, or overnight.
-After removing bandage, wash with lukewarm water and antibacterial or antimicraboil soaps.
-Do not use a wash cloth or anything abrasive to wash with - your hand is best.
-If the tattoo seems slimey or slippery, gently remove the slime. You've been oozing plasma which can create scabs.
-Pat, don't rub, dry with a clean towel or paper towel.
-Do not rebandage
-Follow-up with antibacterial ointment or lotion - avoid petroleum based products, and remember that less is more.

-Continue to use [dye and fragrance free] lotion or ointment to keep skin soft
-It is okay to shower and get the tattoo wet - just don't soak it. Avoid baths and swimming for 2-3 weeks.
-Avoid getting soap, shampoo, or shaving cream on tattoo. Immediately wash if you do.
-Do not shave the tattoo until it is fully healed - shave around until then.

There will be peeling and possibly a little scabbing after a few days. Apply a warm moist compress for about 5 minutes 2-3 times a day for skin to soften - the peeling and scabbing should go away on it's own. DO NOT PICK OR ITCH.
